Before: an architectural element of the theater building
After: Teatrul De Arta Deva – visual identity

I had the pleasure of meeting mr Ranin, director and manager of the Art Theater in Deva. I was also very pleased to notice that he appreciated simplicity and naturalness in graphic design, too.

Our challenge? Express through the conciseness of design the pleasures of the eye and of the soul, the sensibility of theater.

The logo was inspired by the building facade, embellished with windows built in arches. The theater being, first of all, a visual thing, we wanted this logo to contain a graphic element to symbolize the very essence of the visual. The result is a logo that embraces both the graphic symbol and the name in an ensemble that suggests an eye.

At a more careful look, the dome seems to form together with the "iris" a "t" of inverted proportions.
