VERTIGO / visual identity
Before: an almost completely furnished club and a provocative name
After: a complete brand personality in good balance with the design

We received the challenge to create the visual identity when the designing of the place was almost completed and the name, VERTIGO, was suggested by the owners. To this bold name we soon added a fitting slogan: ESPRESSO SOCIAL BAR.

We were inspired by the interior design of this lounge-cafe, with distinct elements of  Op Art  and references inspired by the old New York, Gotham City. Soon, we were searching for images of sky-scrapers that we turned upside-down. This is how we came upon a brave and simple concept: the logo became VERTIGO written in block letters and turned upside-down.

We also added this twist to the menus - by lenticular printing an upside-down image in 3D, so that the images could now have movement and a new aliveness to them.

For a distinct premium look, we only chose very good quality materials - hard covers in black cloth, lenticular printing on the covers, metalic screws for the fixtures of the menu pages, printed on textured 240g Modigliani paper.

The business cards also have an  shape, they are printed by offset in monochrome and the fonts used are ...GOTHAM!
