Before: a location that was used as a bakery circa 1900
After: Terracotta, a mediterranean restaurant / branding and visual identity
For this project, the location was a huge inspiration: the space of a vintage bakery from the early XX century, a very impressive building with walls 4 meters high made from solid brick and cast iron suporting pillars.
terracotta actually means"burnt clay", that is exactly what the wall bricks are made of. The slogan was inspired by the culinary choices of the chef - mainly based on fresh, natural ingredients.
The uniqueness of the logo is revealed in the missing caps of the t's, the writing is chipped of the top serifs of the letters "t" so that it conveys a feeling of an object transfomed by the passing of time. To support this idea, we also made a street sign of rough iron and we let it rust naturally.
The menus, business cards and other stationery are printed on a recycled, fibbered cardboard and had the logo embossed on them.
All the prints and images in the restaurant evoke natural landscapes, bringing to the decor a new and pleasant freshness.
